Kathleen Carmody has refiled a lawsuit asserting that she represents all members of the HEPTO. 

The Board maintains its position that this is, and continues to be, a frivolous and meritless lawsuit, as well as a huge waste of time and resources.

Holiday Mail for Heroes

It's the time of year for Hillendale to once again send holiday cheer to servicemen and women, past and present, with Holiday Mail for Heroes.

If you have a family member or friend in the armed services to whom you would like cards sent, please send the address to Maia Walter (mwalter@ucfsd.net).

Thank you for giving  proud Americans even more reason to smile!  There's nothing like kids' art to make that happen.

Hillendale is collecting NEW toys for the Toys for Tots program.   This organization provides local children in need, toys for the holiday season.   Last year Kennett area Toys for Tots, provided for over 850 children in our area in partnership with the Kennett Food Cupboard.  Consider donating a new, unwrapped toy and placing it in the container located in the Hillendale lobby.   We will be collecting until Friday, December 16th.  Any questions, contact Kelli Dougherty at kellirich@comcast.net

UCF Coat Drive

UCF Coat Drive - Now through December 15th, we are collecting gently used coats, hats and gloves to be given out to local families in need this winter.   There is a collection box located in the Hillendale lobby.  The Kennett Area Community Services Holiday event is Dec. 17th and local needy families come to pick out these coats as well as toys and food.  (We will be collecting new toys after Thanksgiving-more info to come on this.)   Please make sure ALL clothing donated is WASHED and in good condition.  Questions? contact Kelli Dougherty at kellirich@comcast.net

Join in a community book discussion of this New York Times bestseller  on January 26, 2017 at 7:00pm in the Unionville High School Cafeteria. 

Then, on February 23 join us for a presentation by Julie Lythcott-Haims, author of How To Raise An Adult, at 7pm in the Unionville High School auditorium!

These two events are open to the community and free of charge, but please register for each so that we might better prepare and forward any additonal information on to you. Thank you!

On Wednesday December 7 at 6:30 the Crime Victims' Center of Chester County will be at HES to present an Internet Safety Program for parents. The CVC will analyze social media, games, and apps that young people are using today. To see other topics being discussed and for more details please read the Parent Night Flyer

Science Explorers

The next club of the school year begins soon!! Science Club will meet on Fridays in the Science Lab after school from 3:30-4:30 and is available to students in grades 1-5. The next club topic, which begins on 12/2/16, is CRIME SCENE CAPERS 

Become a Science Explorers CSI! Each week a new suspect will be revealed, and we'll use forensic techniques to solve the mystery of "whodunit".  Learn how to lift fingerprints, analyze unknown substances, conduct simulated blood typing and use a black light to reveal glowing evidence. Will you be the one to crack the case?

Club topics later in the school year include Kitchen Chemistry, 3-2-1 Blast Off, and Super Duper Product Sleuthers.
