President's Message

The next PTO General Meeting will be held on May 8 at 9:30 am. Dr. Sanville will be at our meeting to discuss the New Start Time that was approved for the 2017-2018 school year. 

PTO Committee Chair Positions 

The PTO is still in need of an Art in Action Chair and Yearbook co-chair for next school year. If you're interested in these positions or have any questions, please email Christine Sauder 

*Yearbook co-chair: For yearbook we are looking for one volunteer to take pictures at school events and another to help put those pictures into the yearbook layout templates.

It's Time to Order School Supplies for Next Year!!! 

School Tool Box - Take the stress out of back to school shopping!  Our teachers have already worked to compile grade level school supply lists.  School Tool Box will gather all of the materials for you and have them shipped directly to the school. All you have to do is visit and search for Hillendale Elementary to place your order. Remember to order for the grade your child is entering in the fall! Orders are due by June 14th and will be delivered to the school in time for Sneak-a-Peek. School Toolbox Flyer 

Mother's Day Plant Sale

Our Annual Mother's Day Plant Sale will be held on May 12th.  Students will have the opportunity to purchase 1 or 2 plants at $4 per plant.  Volunteers are needed to help this event run smoothly.  Please see the sign-up genius for time slots. 

Family Fun Night - Wilmington Blue Rocks Game

Join the families of Hillendale for a fun night at the ball park as the Blue Rocks take on the Buies Creek Astros on Friday, June 9th at 7PM.  The students will have the opportunity to participate in a High-5 Tunnel to welcome the Blue Rocks onto the field before the game.  Also, make sure to stay post-game for the famous Blue Rocks fireworks extravaganza.  Don't miss this great opportunity!  You can purchase your tickets online via the HES online store - 

Tickets can be picked up the day of the game at the Will Call window.  Deadline to purchase tickets is May 12th.  Please note, tickets are nonrefundable.

Hershey Park Ticket Pickup

Anyone who purchased Hershey Park tickets will be contacted when the tickets arrive and you will need to sign them out in the Hillendale Elementary School Office. 

2017 A Taste of Hillendale 

This year we are bringing some competition to our annual fundraiser! Are you a cornhole master? If so, PROVE IT and bring your skills to this year's event.

202 Nails Giving Back to Hillendale! 

How does it work? 202 Nails will donate 5% of every service to Hillendale Elementary School PTO to benefit our students. All you have to do is mention HES when you arrive or check out.  202 Nails is located at 1810 Wilmington Pike (RT 202) in Suite 9/10.

Annual UCFEF Community Yard Sale Fundraiser

Date: May 6th 2017

Time: 8:00 am – 12 pm

Location: Unionville Elementary

Please donate used outdoor equipment, electronics, antiques, furniture, decorative items and household items.

The UCFEF annual yard sale benefits ALL UCFSD schools district wide in classroom, program, and activity grants, and also provides 2 scholarships for graduating seniors.

Please drop off donations at our host school Unionville Elementary Friday April 28th 3:30-6:00 pm, Wednesday May 3rd 3:30-6:00 pm, Friday May 5th 3:30-6:00 pm

Furniture is welcome and a pick can be arranged at  

We cannot receive clothing, mattresses, monitors, box TV's, scanners, or copiers.

All donations are tax deductible.

Get Ready for the Teenage Years -Parent Presentation 

Learn how to prepare for the transition from Elementary School to Middle School. This hour long presentation will cover what a typical Unionville-Chadds Ford student's behavior looks like, risk and protective factors, and tips to positively impact your child during the transition. 

What: FREE Parent Workshop

When: Monday, May 8, 2017 from 7:00 - 8:30PM (with time for questions)

Who: Parents, Caregivers, Teachers, School Administrators, Coaches, Community Members, etc

Presented by: Kathy Collier - Prevention Specialist, Chester County Department of Drug and Alcohol Services

Pennsylvania Area Youth Survey (PAYS) data specific to Unionville Chadds-Ford School District will be presented. PAYS data measures several different areas in regards to Alcohol, Tobacco, Drugs, and Gambling use and access, risk and protective factors, antisocial behavior, social and emotional health, attitudes and perceptions, and school climate and safety. PAYS data serves as a phenomenal resource for parents and caregivers to gain insight into their child's life. 

Online Silent Auction to Benefit the Johnson Family

Please consider supporting the online auction that is in progress to support the family of Joanna Johnson (a UHS teacher) whose two sons, Henry and Eliot, suffer from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a degenerative muscle disease.

Donated items available for bidding here until Friday, April 28

All funds from this auction will go directly to the Johnson family to help defray increasing medical costs. Anyone can participate in the auction, so please feel free to pass this on to others in our community directly and through social media networks.

UES Spring Family Portraits Fundraiser 

Patton Spring Carnival Flyer

The Patton Carnival is next Friday on May 5th from 2:30-7pm!  There will be games, tons
of prizes and lots of food!  Don't forget the DJ, Photo booth and the Dunk Tank— silly
string is back again so don't miss out!

See you at the Patton PTO Carnival— its our biggest event of the year!!

UHS Boys' Lacrosse Unite for HER Game

Come out and support the Varsity Boys' Lacrosse Team as they take on cross-town rival Kennett HS on Thursday May 4. Game time is approximately 7:30 pm. It will also be our "pink" game to benefit Unite for HER so be sure to wear your pink and bring money for raffle tickets. It's URA night, our URA U9's will play a half time game, and it's also Senior Night! Hope to see you there!
